Preparation for the Next Life

Based on Atticus Lish’s novel of the same name, Preparation for the Next Life follows the story of Aishe, a Uyghur immigrant trained by her military father, who meets Skinner, a young American soldier who has just returned from three tours in the Middle East. In a bustling Chinatown miles away from downtown New York City, the two spark a deep connection. Together, they explore life’s greatest meaning and their determination to devise better lives than the ones they have been given.
